Spot Leukaemia

Could you spot the signs and symptoms of leukaemia?
We’ve called on our friend, ‘Henry’, a very talented Macaw parrot, to voice the symptoms of leukaemia to make sure that you remember them.
We need your help in reaching the general public so that everyone is able to #SpotLeukaemia sooner.
Blood Cancer Awareness Month is dedicated to raising awareness of the signs and symptoms of blood cancer. There are over 50,000 people living with leukaemia in the UK right now, and we are calling on you to join our #SpotLeukaemia campaign and help us spread the word on the signs and symptoms of leukaemia.
Leukaemia can be hard to spot because the signs and symptoms are common to other unrelated illnesses. Knowing what to look out for could help you make the decision to visit your GP sooner for a blood test.
New research published in August 2022 shows that less than 1% of Brits are able to identify the four most widely reported symptoms experienced by leukaemia patients prior to diagnosis. These symptoms are:
- Fatigue
- Bruising
- Unusual bleeding
- Repeated infections
Other symptoms of leukaemia can include:
- Feeling weak or breathless
- Fever or night sweats
- Bone or joint pain
If you are experiencing any of these symptoms and you think something might not be right, contact your GP and ask for a blood test.
Help us to raise awareness of the symptoms of leukaemia today by getting involved in the #SpotLeukaemia campaign.
We’re joining forces with Leukaemia Care
We are collaborating with Leukaemia Care on the Spot Leukaemia campaign, to create greater awareness of the symptoms of leukaemia.
For over 50 years, the charity has been dedicated to ensuring that everyone affected by leukaemia receives the best possible diagnosis, information, advice, treatment and support.
